INFORMED CONSENT IN CLASSES

The aims of this aerial session are to improve cardiovascular fitness, muscular strength and endurance, flexibility and to learn new skills.

Please notify the instructor before each session if you have sustained any injuries, illnesses or medical conditions or if you feel there are parts of the session you are unable to take part in - participation is completely voluntary and it is entirely your responsibility to  inform your instructor of any physical issues you might have that may prevent you from taking part. All information given to the instructor is completely private and confidential under data protection legislation. Please ask as many questions as you like during the session, especially if you do not completely understand any move that is demonstrated.

As with all exercise, aerial classes carry an element of risk and you may experience some bruising or burns and tenderness around the backs of your knees and on the palms of your hands and feel slightly achy for a few days afterwards. The session has been designed to minimise those risks and with continued practice your body will become conditioned to the movements involved. If during the session you feel excessive pain or discomfort, please notify the instructor immediately. It is your responsibility to inform the instructor of any changes to your health or ability to participate in the class and you will be responsible for making sure you do not perform any exercises or activities that are liable to exacerbate any existing injury, illness or condition you may have. If you are pregnant you absolutely must inform your instructor before you book a class as they are under no obligation to teach a pregnant person.

STUDIO RULES

Only Cloud teachers can rig equipment

Do not play on the equipment before, during or after class without express permission from the supervising instructor, if in doubt ask.

Only take instruction from Cloud instructors. Anything you undertake that isn't directly instructed or demoed by your Cloud instructor is at your own risk and uninsured - this includes playgrounds and personal training sessions. If you want to try a new discipline ask a Cloud teacher or join a class in that discipline. Anything outside of this remit is entirely at your own risk.

If your teacher tells you not to do something it's for a reason, don't ignore them.

Any pre-existing injuries must be reported to your teacher before you begin training in each and every session. It is on your own liability if you perform any move that might exacerbate an existing injury. You MUST inform the teacher if you are pregnant and remind them before every session. Some classes are not suitable for pregnant people and our teachers are under no obligation to teach pregnant people.

If you arrive late for a class you are responsible for making sure you are warmed up, your instructor will not take extra time out of the class to warm you up so this responsibility transfers entirely to you. If you choose to join the class without warming up sufficiently any injury you sustain is entirely your own liability.

Don't do anything without a crash mat, doing so is entirely at your own risk and we will not be held responsible for your lack of safety awareness. IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO MAKE SURE THAT YOU USE THE CRASH MATS PROVIDED AND ASK FOR SPOTTERS IF YOU NEED THEM.

All injuries and accidents must be immediately reported to the teacher in the room. All accidents must be recorded and signed in the accident book there and then.

You are wholly and entirely responsible for your own safety and wellbeing at all times.

OPEN TRAINING RULES

All training is undertaken at your own risk, whether instructed or not, both in class and open training.

You must not teach anyone else at open training and this includes bringing friends and teaching them. If you are found to be teaching people or bringing people who have never done aerial with the intention of teaching them, you will be barred from open training and may be banned from the facility entirely.

Open practice is designed for you to practice your existing knowledge in disciplines, not to try new things. If you have never done any aerial before you must attend a class first.

Never do anything you don't feel safe doing and don't push someone to do something they don't want to do either.

Anything you undertake that isn't directly instructed or demoed by your Cloud instructor is at your own risk and uninsured. If you want to try a new discipline ask a Cloud teacher or join a class in that discipline. Anything outside of this remit is entirely at your own risk, which includes all training undertaken in an open training session.

Don't do anything without a crash mat, doing so is entirely at your own risk and we will not be held responsible for your lack of safety awareness. IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO MAKE SURE THAT YOU USE CRASH MATS AND SPOTTERS.

Don't try anything that is above your level even if other people are doing it. Don't make other people try things that are above their level. If in doubt check with a Cloud teacher. Remember, you're on your own liability in practice sessions and playground so it's your responsibility to be safe.

All injuries and accidents must be immediately reported to the teacher in the room. All accidents must be recorded and signed in the accident book there and then.
